Last week I updated everyone on Admitting is not defeat, this was a lot bigger for me than most of you probably realize. I am doing so much better, still having a few struggles but I don’t have that feeling of hopelessness.
But since I posted it, I took it on as a personal challenge. I promised myself and essentially you as well since I put it out there that I would follow my prescription for better health  and a better me.
Here is the update;
I spent time at the beach, it was overcast (due to it being our rainy season) but I still found peace and relaxation from the sounds of the crashing waves, the salt water mist in the air as the gentle breeze came in from the gulf. No matter how much or how little time I spend at the beach, I benefit!
I found time to read. I am half way through a book by my friend and author Ginae Lee Scott titled “Looking Through The Water”. Even though I have been reading at night as I promised I would I felt it only appropriate to mix the beach and reading given the title of the book and the story line. If you have not read this book go to http://www.ginaeleescott.com/ and pick up a copy, trust me you will be blessed by her writing and the message.
I also started incorporating more choices in my diet such as Green Kale and a lot of it. Why Green Kale?  Well after doing just a little bit of researching I found some things out about Kale that I did not know.

Duck Fat
I started doing a little bit more of my cooking with Duck Fat, wow what a taste and all of the benefits I get from using this great fat.
Friends don’t be afraid to use REAL Fat in your cooking.  Duck fat is a “good” fat with a fair amount of monounsaturated fat. The biggest thing for me is it is a ONE INGREDIENT source to cook with.

Just for fun, as I was at the beach this weekend I went to this great soap shop on John’s Pass, Loris Soap and Sponge Market. If you live in the area, stop by it is a real treat to go in there. All of their soaps are natural and 100% CHEMICAL FREE, they even have vegan options. I chose some Goats Milk Soap because the goat milk actually lowers the PH level in the soap itself, it also contains a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids which has been said to rejuvenate your skin making you look and feel smoother, softer and younger.

As you can tell I have been busy but busy doing all of the right things including lots and lots of rest and i am feeling absolutely 100% better every day.
